ORTHOPAEDIC KNEE SURGEON
When a meniscal tear is diagnosed and fails to heal or causes further damage within the knee, arthroscopic surgical treatment becomes necessary.
At arthroscopy it must be established whether or not the tear can be sutured and preserved or whether it is necessary to partially remove the meniscus. When necessary to remove, as little as possible of the meniscus must be removed so as to preserve function. The torn part is removed back to a stable margin.
